putting my own spin on things

Do you know Floyd?

Comments Off on Do you know Floyd?

I must normally look mean.  Most of the time people handing out fliers, etc avoid me like the plague.  I don’t know if its because I tend to squint in the sun (even when I have sunglasses on) or if I walk like I have a place to be or what.  At any rate, today I put my hair up in two little bunches and every person on my way across campus stopped me.  In a 30-foot span I had 2 people offer me voter guides (I already voted) and one guy who wanted me to help remind people to vote (I’m a full time grad student and work 20 hours a week, I’d love to, but I just can’t).  That gets old, especially since the second and third person both watched the person before them approach me.

Anyway, as I was leaving campus at the fantastically early time of 2pm, a smiling guy walked up to me and asked “do you know Floyd?” and handed me a Vote Floyd flier, campaigning for Floyd Prozanski for Oregon State Senate.  I have to wonder what made me such a manget today, it kind of makes me laugh.
