Can’t Buy My Love

Comments Off on Can’t Buy My Love

Twice now, I have gotten missed calls from an 888 number that I didn’t recognize at all.  So today, when it happened while I was showering, I called it back.  It was Sprint, my current (though not for much longer) cell phone carrier.  They knew that my plan was due to expire (November 10-yay!) and that I had already called to inquire about making sure my plan cancelled at that time.  So they were calling to try and buy my love back.  With a 5% discount.  Like a $2 difference in my service would make me want to stay with them.  I suppose if I weren’t fed up with the lack of reception and number of dropped calls I have I might have taken it.  However, they would only do it if I re-upped for 24 months.  Screw that.  I’m not dealing with them for 2 more years. After voicing my complaint that they were calling and just hanging up on me (I have caller id idiots, you have my account, you know that) I politely told the nice man that I talked to that I would not be interested in renewing my contract, period.  In fact, I’ve already made arrangements to begin service with Verizon which will hopefully be put into place today, with my phone arriving by Halloween (again, hopefully.)
