putting my own spin on things

Lucky, or social change begins at home.

Inspired by Julie I would like to say the following:

I was a lucky child, I was raised by a stay-at-home dad and a go-to-work mom. My sisters and I were given trucks, and hammers, and anything else we were interested in playing with. We wore red, and blue and pink and any color we decided we liked. I was taught to play catch, to whittle, and carve, and how to build a fire. I was taught how to garden, and how to drive the tractor and how to knit, and cook and sew. But the most important thing I ever learned from my parents was that I could do anything I wanted. I was also lucky enough to be taught about equality and sharing work, and now while I cook and clean the house, my boyfriend does the dishes and the laundry, and we never have to fight about why there are no clean towels. I can’t wait to teach this lesson to my [future] children, its one of the most important things one can impart.
