putting my own spin on things

TheBoy and I decided that it was about time we went to the movies. There are very few movies that either he or I need to see at full price so we were limited to the dollar fifty theatre selection. [As a side note, I’m not sure what the last movie was that I paid full price for. We normally go to matinees, and even with non-matinee movies the first run theatres here have student discounts.] At any rate, we decided that we both wanted to see The Incredibles.

I was impressed. Really. It was cute, but not overly so. It was predictible, but not overly so. And it had Jason Lee as the voice of the bad guy. What more can one ask for out of life? The animation was extremely well done. The hair, which is the hardest part to model, was so shiny and moved naturally. I really like the almost plasticine quality of the characters. They struck me as very nostalgic for the era of claymation that spawned such movies as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Clause is Coming to Town. I would have to recommend the movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it.
