I just got off the phone with one of my best friends in the whole world. I’ve known my buddy Paul for three and a half years now and it was about this time of year three years ago that we really started to hang out on our own. We bonded over a viewing of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a few games of cribbage and the rest is history. Colorful, multi-faceted, deep history.

I hadn’t gotten to talk to Paul lately becuase we’re both very busy people, he works way more than is good for anyone, and I have been busy with school and new friends and the whatnot. At any rate, we intended to only talk briefly, but we got caught up in the discussion and it was like it hasn’t been 7 months since I last saw him. There’s no akward “ummm…” moments, just an hour of solid chattering, catching up with someone we love. I love how that is, I can’t believe how lucky I am. I am thankful.
