putting my own spin on things

Not quite right.

I had a weekend of things not working out quite like they were supposed to/I wanted them to.  First off was Friday night.  While making quesadillas for our dinner, I discovered that the George Foreman grill’s grill plate extends to just slightly under the lip of the machine.  After setting it on a cord so it leaned sideways I discovered this fact with my right pointer finger.  First time in my life I’ve ever burnt myslf so badly it blistered.  Although the blister didn’t appear until Saturday, leaving me to spend Friday night sulking in pain, with burn cream slathered all over my hand.  I have a nice groove across my finger now, although it no longer hurts (thankfully!)

Saturday I let someone cut my hair.  I impulsively cut it, walking into some place to get it cut.  The good news is the haircut only cost me $12.  The bad news is, I’m not sure I love, or even like it.  Its a lot more conservative than I was looking for.  I guess next time I get a recommendation from a friend with good hair and go in and talk to someone who REALLY knows what they’re doing.  I’m thinking that it might need to become purple in order to make up for the conservativeish cut.  Anyway, here’s the new hair:

The other big thing that hasn’t gone the way planned is a hat that I was designing and knitting for a friend.  I sat down and planned it out, only now that its done, I don’t think its what she and I wanted it to be.  I’m not sure she’ll even like it, although I’m going to give it two separate blockings (its getting a general shape blocking then I’m going to block the brim separately tomorrow in an attempt to make it do what I want.) Worst case scenario is that it gets frogged and I start over.  Bleh.  Here it is.

At any rate, tomorrow I get to see Michael Moore and then go to the library, so I’m thinking that might just turn things around for me.  Have a happy Monday.
