Seemingly I’ve also changed over the past few years from career-driven to simply happy with my regular job. But the reality is that I’ve always been the “simply happy with my regular job” type.

It’s just that my previous circumstances (namely, being single) allowed me the luxury to push in a direction that was contrary to my nature, a direction that was encouraged by everyone around me, and a direction that I had the smarts to pursue, regardless of what would actually make me happy. Anyway, these realizations are a wonderful thing for a peaceful life, don’t you think?
