More on the Girl Front.
My mom sent me this link about a 14 member all girl accordian orchestra. Very interesting! The girls are cute too!
Follow Up.
As a follow up to my previous post, my dad emailed me to let me know that a relative of mine, Martha Rose [McGurk] Chavez played the accordian. He wasn't sure but he believes that she was a New York State Champion in the '60s. Maybe I should take it up!
How Come?
How come you never see a woman playing an accordian?! I love that John Linnell of They Might Be Giants plays one, but how come you never see a woman with one? I've half a mind to take it up, if I really needed another hobby.
Sunday Night Update
Spent the weekend relaxing mostly. Last week was pretty stressful, and there will be a little more stress this week before it is all over. I had a dinner meeting on Friday, which ended up being a lot of fun, and then came home and spent some time hanging out with TheBoy, who had a drunken business lunch and was very sleepy. Then on Saturday we went and picked up some craft supplies and I did quite a bit of knitting. I found a pattern here that I thought would look really cute. I've been meaning to get some fabric headbands for awhile, but I never find any that I like. I've also been meaning to do some color work because it is definitely a skill that interests me, although I don't usually go in for fair isle patterned sweaters. At any rate, I used leftovers of Lamb's Pride Nature Spun Sport in Totally Turquoise and Black, on size 2 needles and this is what I came up with:

Life is really busy these days. Tomorrow, TheBoy and I will have a big bed. A king-sized bed. We needed a new bed because the old box spring died. We figured if we had to buy a bed, we were not buying another full bed because that bed was way too small for two grown people. So, we went in search of a new bed, and found one that we think will be wonderful. The guys from The Mattress Store are delivering the new bed tomorrow and taking away the old, broken bed.
There are now catagories for the blog, here, but I haven't really set them up yet. Maybe I'll do that now. Eventually I'll shuffle everything into catagories and you'll be able to select the catagory over to the left there and get all topics that I've posted on a given subject.
