Christ-A-Licious!
TheBoy and I do grocery shopping once a week. We try to go on Sunday evenings, after dinner if possible, when our chosen grocery store is less packed. Although, our store of choice is brand new, so there usually aren't that many people swarming it. At any rate, we always try to make up a menu for the next week and first on this week's list was pita bread. We made some pita pizzas, because we're trying to watch what we eat pretty closely as we both need to shed some pounds. When we finally located the pita bread in the store, I was transfixed by this package looking up at me. Bible Bread!?! A little bit of research on the company doesn't reveal whether they are heavily religious, just that they're organic. They're simple, whole wheat and sesame seed pitas. They were pretty tasty, I might even called them Christ-a-licious! Which, Mac and I decided would make a fantastic url. If I thought I would ever use it, I'd register it right now.
She’s Here.
My Kromski Prelude, Mahogany finish. Purchased on the 18th of February at Pacific Wool and Fiber in Dundee, OR. Yes, that bobbin is already full.

Happy Spinning Wheel Day!
In a little less than an hour, TheBoy and I will be headed to Dundee to purchase my new spinning wheel. I'm so excited, he just wishes that he could have slept later. We've got a busy day ahead of us apart from getting the wheel. We're also having lunch with TheBoy's mom, visiting with his best friend, and having dinner with his grandmother. Hopefully we'll still be home early enough that I get to use my wheel tonight!
Hooray!
It's snowing! It's snowing!
Tiny, wee flakes that are actually falling pretty quickly. I'd be quite surprised if anything stuck at this point, but man, does the snow ever make me happy. In the few minutes since I paused in my writing we now have big, fat, lazy and yet still pretty heavy flakes. So far nothing has stuck to the ground, and like I said, I don't think it will, at least not for awhile. Just the act of the snowing makes me feel even more at home than I normally do.
That’s Bullshit!
I believe that earlier today I earned the status of best gift-giver ever. And best fiance ever. At least the best one TheBoy has. I filed my taxes, and will have my refund sometime around the tenth of February. I didn't get back everything that I paid in, but I am getting back most of it. Part of it has to go to pay Oregon, because I didn't pay them anything while I was working in Alaska, but there's a fair chunk left over. Because we know we're going to have the money that we need to go East for a week this summer, we've figured out how to spend the rest.
1. Sunglasses lenses, hopefully for an old pair of my frames. A necessity for a visit to Las Vegas, especially with my eye issues.
2. A spinning wheel. Two weeks from today, TheBoy and I will be visiting Pacific Wool and Fiber and with any luck will be bringing home a beautiful, walnut stained Kromski Prelude. I'm very very excited to be able to spin in my own apartment.
And 3. This is the part that the title of this entry refers to as well as what makes me the best gift giver. TheBoy's birthday is the day we get back from our trip to Vegas. I've been wracking my brain trying to think of what to get him. Today I figured it out. He, his best friend and I have tickets to see Penn and Teller in the end of March. We all love them, not just as magicians, but also for their show Bullshit! and had been trying to figure out how to come up with the extra money to go. Tax refund = tickets! And according to the website when I ordered them, they appear to be front row, center section, on the aisle. All of which are very very good things. We're extremely excited, we are.
