All Moved!
The move to a new host was successful! I've been sick since the day after Christmas [TheBoy brought home a bug from work] and haven't had time to even download the Christmas photos. Instead, I've been napping and laying on the couch watching bad tv and coughing out my lungs. TheBoy and I were absolutely spoiled by everyone in our respective families. Hopefully we'll be able to move the couch out and wrap it in the navy blue slipcover that I was given by TheBoy's mom this weekend, but I'm not holding my breath on that [especially since it would make me cough even more to hold my breath.]
Going Down.
Cathartic Ink will be down for about 24 hours within the next couple of days while we switch hosts. We loved our old host, but due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, we'll be switching to a new one.
Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!
I got a box today from my mom, which included the ornaments that she has made me over the past three years as well as a brand new one for this year. They're all cross-stitched and most of them have beads and glittery blending filiment worked into them.
Here's the new one. A lovely, super-glittery [although the photo doesn't show that] snowman face against a background. My mom makes the braid around the ornament edges too.

The other three she sent [click to biggerize]:
They're a wreath surrounded by celtic knotwork, a lovely victorian santa and a celtic cross.
And this is where they are now, on a garland, pinned to the curtain across the doors to my balcony:

and a close-up of the center of the garland. Bumbles bounce!

uffda!
Well, its been a weekend. We attended a funeral yesterday, TheBoy's great-uncle passed away on Tuesday. Afterwards we spent the afternoon and evening with TheBoy's grandmother. Took her to get a new handheld shower to attach to her tub, and had dinner with her. The great-uncle in question was her brother, he was 83 and had already had six heart bypass surgeries. While it is sad that he passed, he lived a good long life.
Today we were going to go to Portland with TheBoy's mom in order to see zoo lights and meet up with a friend of mine. However, freezing rain was predicted to start here around 2pm and to start in Portland at 6pm. Since we didn't want to risk getting stuck in Portland overnight, we opted to stay home. Left in order to pick up a chicken (so that I could roast it for dinner) and got caught in an icy, messy rain. That didn't last long and then everything dried here but it recently started up again. They're predicting rain tomorrow which should be interesting.
Update on the toes...My bruise extends from the outside of my foot to underneath my second toe. It is also most of the way up my piggy toe. Having today off to just lie on the couch and watch tv was good. TheBoy and I watched Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns about They Might Be Giants. Absolutely excellent, and extremely funny. All-in-all today has been great, and with luck my chicken will come out well. Out meat thermometer died, so we're going by the less scientific method to determine doneness.
I Feel Like I’ve Been Here Before
I'm a klutz. However, I did not ever expect to have to check the blog in order to ascertain which foot I hurt the last time I really bruised my toes. That's exactly what I did last night though. I present to you:
September 2004:

December 2005:

Different foot, same old klutz. Its actually a lot more painful than it looks.
