The plague has passed…
...And we're both still alive. Turns out that what I had was a nasty horrible case of the flu that's been going around. At very nearly age 24 I have never before had the flu and I would really really like never to have it again. Afer spending 4 days in bed myself and being wobbly and unhappy, TheBoy arrived home with a temperature of just slightly under 103 degrees F. Therefore, I took another two days off because taking care of both of us completely sapped me of all energy and strength that I had regained prior to his falling ill.
I have been meaning to thank Mac for the peanut chews that she sent me. They were tasty and delicious, and I would photograph them except that TheBoy and I ate them. Yup. All gone.
I also need to thank the wonderful Miss Rachel M. of Joyfulgirl Knits for the stitch markers she sent me in return for a pair of tiny tiny MaryElla needles (which will be put in the mail tomorrow if all goes well). They are handmade and lovely, in shades of red, tan and purple, my most favorite colors of the moment. And here they are in all their lovely glory:

Please ignore my pants, I was wearing my pjs. I will be very sad when those pants wear out as I made them a few years ago from some awesome penguin print
flannel that I bought on sale somewhere.
I also finished my St. Patrick socks, previously known as the retro-stripe socks. The colors just scream St. Patrick's Day, for which I am anxiously awaiting. I am now in a home that has pots large enough for corned beef and cabbage, and a boy that will eat the cabbage part. I will not cook the corned beef without the cabbage, but I do not like cabbage either. So, at this point the plan is to not spend St. Patty's Day like I did last year--giving Chris mono and drinking far too much rum, resulting in a bad, unhappy tummy at the end of it. I'm pretty sure I have a final on the 18th, so I believe that it is a good idea not to have a repeat performance of that. Anyway, here's the St. Patrick Socks, please ignore my dirty floor (I was sick) and my pasty white legs (I am an irish girl after all).

Rogue v.1
So, being in school and being sick have really made me have little time for knitting. Being sick has also made it impossible to sit at the computer and post these photos. But here they are, the first progress shots of Rogue. I'm just a few rows short of reattaching the pocket. Cables are really easy, just like every said. Anyway, here's the photos. Click for biggerizing.
Just Can’t Shake it…
I went to Portland on Saturday for a lecture and in the afternoon I developed a cough. Thinking it was just from someone's cigarette smoke, I shrugged it off. Well, now I'm running a fever and alternate between sweating and freezing, so that should about sum up how I feel. New skin is up, select SpringFlowers from the dropdown menu if you can't see it.
Mystery Solved.
The Chipperz came from a college friend who is now living in Missouri. It didn't even dawn on me that he (Shaun) had asked for my address less than a week before I got them. Apparently there was a note option in the ordering process (he ordered them online) but he didn't discover that until after he'd already sent my box. So, mystery solved. Also, it turns out they're pretty good. Vaguely kit-kat like. TheBoy and I enjoyed them very much.
There is no greater joy…
...than a 5 button mouse. Being as that my work computer is an old emac (i'm getting a new, G5 with a 19" flat panel monitor pretty soon) I've been working with a one button mouse since I started here in September. When we picked out my new machine, I asked for a 5-button. Even a 3-button would've been great. We got just your regular, white, 5-button microsoft optical intellimouse. That was waiting for me when I came in today (so I hold out hope that the computer might be here today too). I plugged it in, and oh, the sheer joy of it!
