Do you know Floyd?

I must normally look mean.  Most of the time people handing out fliers, etc avoid me like the plague.  I don't know if its because I tend to squint in the sun (even when I have sunglasses on) or if I walk like I have a place to be or what.  At any rate, today I put my hair up in two little bunches and every person on my way across campus stopped me.  In a 30-foot span I had 2 people offer me voter guides (I already voted) and one guy who wanted me to help remind people to vote (I'm a full time grad student and work 20 hours a week, I'd love to, but I just can't).  That gets old, especially since the second and third person both watched the person before them approach me.

Anyway, as I was leaving campus at the fantastically early time of 2pm, a smiling guy walked up to me and asked "do you know Floyd?" and handed me a Vote Floyd flier, campaigning for Floyd Prozanski for Oregon State Senate.  I have to wonder what made me such a manget today, it kind of makes me laugh.

A Love Hate Letter to My Printer

Dear Marketing BW Printer,

I just wanted to let you know that I hate you with all of my heart and from the very bottom of my soul.  I hate the way that you are not located in my office, and I hate that even when I make all your settings right you spew out crap.  I hate that I have no way to cancel said crap.  You are a dinosaur, and again, I hate you.

There is no love here,
Bonnie

She wakes up smashed as hell….

And that's how I started my day.  Not drunk, but with a severe lack of sleep as today was something we like to cll "Super Tuesday". At 10 am I had a page essay due, and then a midterm to take.  At noon, I had a 5-7 page essay due.  At 4, I had an assignment due.  So, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep.

When I got to class at 10am, the professor (who is my current favorite--he's just so cute, and wears a bowtie every day) was there, looking disheveled and upset.  He proceeded to apologize for the recent ambiguity in the class, as his office had been broken into and he was pretty distraught over it.  My heart broke for him, I guess someone stole his house keys, his cell phone and various other items, although we're unsure if any of his books, research materials or other artifacts were stolen as well.  At any rate, he offered us a two-day extension on the essay because of this ambiguity which I opted not to take, I wouldn't have looked at it again between now and then anyway.  Then he handed out the midterm, which proceeded to bend me over and violate me.  However, it appears that it violated most other people in approximately the same way.  I also developed a migraine about 45 mintes before the midterm, which didn't help things much.

I caffeinated myself so much I believe I spent most of the day vibrating.  I had a glass of coke with my bagel this morning, half a coke while studying before my midterm, 2 excedrine migraine before my test and a 16 ounce mocha afterward.  By the time I got to work at 1.30, I was wide awake.  My 4-6pm class was excruciating though, although its normally boring anyway.

And that folks, was my Super Tuesday.

Can’t Buy My Love

Twice now, I have gotten missed calls from an 888 number that I didn't recognize at all.  So today, when it happened while I was showering, I called it back.  It was Sprint, my current (though not for much longer) cell phone carrier.  They knew that my plan was due to expire (November 10-yay!) and that I had already called to inquire about making sure my plan cancelled at that time.  So they were calling to try and buy my love back.  With a 5% discount.  Like a $2 difference in my service would make me want to stay with them.  I suppose if I weren't fed up with the lack of reception and number of dropped calls I have I might have taken it.  However, they would only do it if I re-upped for 24 months.  Screw that.  I'm not dealing with them for 2 more years. After voicing my complaint that they were calling and just hanging up on me (I have caller id idiots, you have my account, you know that) I politely told the nice man that I talked to that I would not be interested in renewing my contract, period.  In fact, I've already made arrangements to begin service with Verizon which will hopefully be put into place today, with my phone arriving by Halloween (again, hopefully.)
