Something’s Amiss
I don't have photos of my new hat tonight, because my image upload is not working, and I don't feel like manually uploading and creating thumbnails for them this late at night. Derek and I are going to give it until tomorrow night and hope its just something screwy with the server.
It rained last night and today. It was nice, although I guess rain isn't supposed to happen in August. The coast got almost an inch and a half this weekend, with the average for August being .37 inches. I enjoyed that it was cooler. That's the best part of it, is that it went from being in the 90's to being just under 70. This made it cool enough today that I could wear my hat, and the creepy guy at Albertson's was far too interested in my hat and in what I was making with the rhubarb I was buying. I guess Derek's protective hovering wasn't enough to make it clear that I was not to be hit on. I could do without creepy people, myself.
Nothing.
I've got nothing today. I slept for 11.5 hours last night, got up, worked off the groggy from the "sleep aid" I took last night, called my dad and talked to him, then went to work. Unless someone sells a mess tomorrow, I've sold the most movie passes at work this week, with a total of 11. I'll be glad when the push to sell these things is over and I don't have to shove it down people's throats anymore. People, I know you hate hearing the same schpeel everytime you come in, but if we don't do it, we get yelled at. And I just enjoy the sense of accomplishment I get every time I get to mark off another pass on the chart we have. Anyway, we'll try and get photos tomorrow, but it might be raining, I know it is today.
Tired, Sans Knitting.
Derek and I have been pretty low key today. I couldn't sleep again last night. Its getting frustrating. We had this horribley creepy guy in the store today, and the manager thinks that he may have been a spy from Hollywood Video. Apparantly they spy on Blockbuster all the time. A somewhat elderly woman called me sweetie in order to get my attention which is funny because even Derek's Nonni doesn't call me sweetie. Derek's mom does, but that's different. I really do love some of our customers, like this one guy, who has really thick glasses and a great smile, and this man today who appeared to have down's sydrome who came in, walked up to the manager and yelled "IT'S FRIDAY!" It was awesome, just that sheer joy in another human. Or yesterday, the baby that started laughing because I laughed. Or the high school teacher who said she refused to get certified to teach lower levels than high school because middle school kids suck.
After work we went and picked up some black swiss dot grosgrain ribbon so that I can make my younger sister a ribbon belt with some of the leftovers from mine. I'm torn between making it exactly like I made mine or having to sew just a little bit more to make hers reversible. We also ran to the grocery store and picked up some roast beef and hoagie rolls because it is far too warm and humid to cook anything.
I've been knitting lately, although I haven't been home in enough daylight to photograph things. Wednesday, on my day off, I knit up a Nautilus Hat in Cascade 220 Quattro. I'm currently working on a lacy scarf in matching yarn. I'll try and get pictures up tomorrow.
So Nice, We’ll Do It TWICE!
So, the meeting last night was only an hour, which was nice as I've only been home 8 hours and I have to be back at work in 45 minutes. Next Thursday we're doing it again, because there are a lot of legalities involved with something that Blockbuster is about to start doing so we have to have a 2.5-3 hour meeting. That one should be interesting around 2am. Anyway, more later, and knitting content soon (I hope).
I am Tired.
Alright, I've had enough of this hot and tired thing. I've been crabby way more during this humid heat than I have in a long time. Blah!
