GoDaddy’s No Help.
So, I emailed customer service about the issue with my image upload script that worked perfectly fine up until a couple of days ago. Their reason for the script not working on their servers is that their php settings have been changed so that they are no longer running in safe mode. Derek says that's a bunch of hoo-ha, that the only way it would change is if it went from running in non-safe mode to running in safe mode. So we're a little stumped, and I'm a little more than annoyed with the customer service that my hosting company is providing.
Nickel Crazy!
A couple of weeks ago, while on the phone with my father, he mentioned the Lewis and Clark Westward Expansion Nickles and how he just couldn't find ANY. My dad is a coin nut, not to the point where he buys coins, but man, he NEVER wants to get rid of change. He keeps coffee cans full of them. He does have some coins that are non-normal change, like wheat cents and buffalo nickels. He also hordes the 50 state quarters, to the point where he'll trade you eagle quarters for state ones just so he can have more. I think his point in that is that he'd really like a full roll of each coin, of each mint mark. And I know that he wanted at least one roll of the Westward Expansion nickles, and one of each mint mark. So far, that's 4 rolls. So, that's $8 worth of nickels. Well, so far I have secured 1 roll of Peace Medal Nickels Mint Mark-D from Ebay for $9.79. I secured a roll of each mint mark in the Keelboat design from the U.S. Mint for $13.95. I am currently working on securing the Mint Mark-P Peace Medal nickels, which will probably cost me between $8-10. These will then be my main Christmas present for my father. I feel kind of dumb paying so much more money for this currency than it is actually worth, but if it'll make him happy, I'll do it. He's been really really great to me lately and I'd like to repay that with a gift I know he'll love. Anyway, in case you haven't seen them here are the nickel backs:

Like, Totally
Alright, tonight I watched Totally Obsessed on Vh1. These people are a little bit off their rockers. There was a man who wants to turn himself into a cat, physically. A man who gave up his job as a doctor in order to make exact replicas of Madonna's costumes. A couple who are raising a cabbage patch kid doll as their own child. They showed the couple's human daughter who is pretty jealous of the doll. I suppose I'd be upset too, if my parents treated a doll better than they treated me. Anyway, below are photos of CatMan and MaDiva...They're both from Vh1.com. Click to biggerize.
Nostalgia…
So, NDSU starts the fall 2004 semester tomorrow. It feels a little weird not to be back on campus, getting ready for another year's worth of classes there. Its even weirder knowing that I have another month before I start classes. I've been talking to some of my friends and they're lamenting the lack of summer in North Dakota/Minnesota. Its mostly been cold and rainy there. Speaking of which, it was rainy here. At one point it poured down rain and all of the movies that came in through the outside drop slot were wet. Wet and soggy. Bleah. Something tells me I have many many more days of wet movies in the drop box ahead of me.
Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes…
There's been some changes here at Cathartic Ink. Most of them are things you'll never see directly, however some things are. You'll see as they appear. I have to thank Derek for these changes, he is my most excellent code man.
And here, finally, I have photos of my Nautilus Hat. Like I said before I knit it in Cascade 220 Quattro Color 9439. I haven't done any blocking yet, and the darkness of my hair make it difficult for the eyelets to be striking in the photos. I think I'll probably make at least one more of these, next time in cotton, for a little stiffer stitch.
**Edit**
I just realized that my glasses look odd, colorwise in those photos. They're a dual colored translucent plastic. The front layer is raspberry, and the back layer is grape.
