My Favorite Thing in My Apartment.

My favorite thing in my apartment is this lamp:

Derek's grandmother bought it with S&H Greenstamps a few decades ago and I am its third owner.  I did buy the current shade for it.  I was told that I am allowed to paint it, or do whatever I want to do with it, but I love the simplicity and the shape of it too much to ever do that.

Big Doings At TheApartment of TheBon

As of October 1st TheApartment of TheBon will be the official residence of both TheBon and TheBoy. There is a LOT of work to be done between now and then, since this is semi-unexpected, but it'll be worth it!

A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.

So, today was Garden State day.  The soundtrack was so amazing, the Remy Zero song was on of my favorites from Villa Elaine.  The movie was powerful, wonderful, sweet, and sour all at once.  Braff was amazing in a role that was different from J.D. on Scrubs.  Ian Holm was stunning, Natalie Portman reminded me a lot of her role in Beautiful Girls.

One of the major themes was of finding home.  I can really identify with that, so some parts of the movie made my heart ache.  All in all, I'd have to say that the movie helped me to put some of the looser ends of my existance into perspective, which is always nice.

My laptop's auction is over, leaving me with enough money for a sizeable yarn bender, so unless something freakish happens, Thursday I'll be hitting up some of the yarn stores in town in hopes of building my stash.  I seem to keep being bored with things, as I have mostly abandoned the second basket-case sock and the scarf, and begun another pair of socks.  Nothing picture-worthy at the moment, just an inch or so of 1x1 ribbing.  Hopefully more tomorrow night.

Ready for Fall

We had a little bit less than a week of fall weather here, now its back to the mid 80's.  I'd like fall back please.  I liked the rain.  It didn't rain all day for a single day, and most of the time it was just misty or drizzle.  So, I'd like it back please.  Please?

Yesterday while I was in Target buying conditioner, I wandered down into the travel/trial size aisle.  And found something that intrigued me so much, I HAD to buy them:

Pocket Suds.  Its a rose petal-esque leaf of soap that you put on your hand, liberally apply water too, and always have soap with you.  Its a nice idea for those days when the soap in the public restaurant is gone when you get there.  However, they're a little gooey and weird.  It was worth the 99 cents I paid for them though!

Bits and Pieces…Again

Last night's staff meeting ended up only being an hour and a half long.  It went really well, the three new staff members are young, but I think with a little time they'll fit into the staff really well.  We all get along really well, and that's so nice.  The "big deal coming up" doesn't sound like its going to be that bad. Just a lot of id checking and signing EVERYTHING.

The girls last night kept oohing and aahing over how great my apartment is.  And I'll have to admit, I love it.  I am more than happy to have people over here all the time too.  At one point Megan told me I was "quite the hostess" which is just something that's been trained into me.  I can throw a party without stressing until my head pops.  Which is nice.

The keelboat nickels that I ordered from the U.S. Mint shipped yesterday, so that's exciting for me.  Unfortunately I now have to spend 3 months not telling my dad that I bought them for him.  That may be tough.  I'm bad at keeping surprises because I just want to tell people and make them happy.

Derek's mom wants us to go up to Salem sometime over Labor Day weekend, except I work all weekend.  So I'm torn now, between being horribley exhausted, or not seeing some people that I do really really like.  We're hoping we can make a compromise.

I get to see GARDEN STATE finally!!! I'm so excited, Derek's taking me on a date to see it on Saturday at the Bijou here in Eugene.  I'm very very excited.
