deconstruction

Third post of the day...I was looking through my poetry and
sharing some with my friend Sam...And I really love this one...So I figured I'd throw it up here quick...Its not about
anyone in specific...At least not anyone I've found yet...

"Deconstruction"

Words, like hammer on
a chisel,
Strike the eggshell of my psyche
Breaking solid into powder
As I deconstruct to nothing.
/>Taking pieces, leaving fragments
And I struggle for composure.
Wreaking havoc, and I.m choking
On the
pressure of the hurtful
And  the sour, stagnant hatred
Leaves me longing for the comfort
That I find
within your being
In the closeness of your presence
And that look deep in your eyes.

dragons

Revisiting old thoughts...

I see the dragon as my
personal symbol.  I used to be really weak, emotionally.I was shaky, insecure and suicidal.  To me, the dragon embodies
the internal struggle I.ve gone through, which is why the dragon is curled around a sphere, protecting his soft
underbelly parts.  Dragons are often a symbol of protection, much as in the piece of artwork I did based on my poem
.nightmares..  I know I can now protect myself from myself, as well as from many of the external pressures I feel.
Also, my dragon is a symbol of one of the greatest friendships I never thought I.d find, a friendship in which I am
fully confident of myself and my place in, and it is this confidence I strive to achieve in more parts of my life.  The
colors of purple and red symbolize two very different aspects of my personality, the red my fiery imagination, my
sometimes-quick temper and my craziness.  The purple symbolizes the more serious side of my personality, the reserved,
thoughtful, poetry writing, dark, brooding side.

New Job

Hmmm...Sunday, and tomorrow is Monday (obviously!)  I start
my new job tomorrow, working as a small scale graphic designer, with mostly simple design projects for my university.
The money isn't great, but its better than I'd be making at home and I'm just at the point where I need a break from
the stress of architecture.  I didn't get any packing done again today, but I've got plans to bust butt on it tomorrow
afternoon when I get done with work (hooray for being done at 3pm every day!).  Just found out that my best friend
seems to have forgotten his plans to come visit me next weekend, so tomorrow I'm going to have to pick up my phone and
remind him.  Other than that today was quite uneventful, lots of napping, lots of tv, and some reading.  I've been
watching the food network a lot lately, and tonight's theme was wedding shows.  Man it looks like fun to have a wedding
to plan.  We'll see if I ever have one.  When I was a kid I always figured that by the time I turned 22 I'd be out of
college and married and on my way to having a family...Wow has that changed as I've gotten older.  Firstly, I've still
got another year left of school.  And unless I'm ready to meet someone, get married and start working on babies in 2.5
weeks...well, NOT going to happen.  I'm not even ready to think super seriously about any of those things even...I
figure I should find someone to at least go out with on a date or two before I even start to think past that
point....Anyway, I'm to bed...

Favorites

Okay. New post. Spent today trying not to cough out my
lungs...And making cds of my "favorite" Ani DiFranco songs for my friend Jeremiah as I promised him last night that I
would. I should have been packing, but every time I stood up I was just too woozy, so I'd lay back down and cough some
more. Man, I really hate being sick! Anyway, just for my memory, and Jeremiah's sake once he gets the cds here's a
complete track listing for both cds, including the albums the songs came from:

Disc One:

*Ani
DiFranco (The First Album)*:
Talk to Me Now
Letting the Telephone Ring
Pale Purple
Every Angle

*Imperfectly*:
What if No One's Watching
Circle of Light
Good, Bad, Ugly
Served
Faithfully
Imperfectly
*Puddle Dive*:
Names and Dates and Times
Anyday
Egos Like Hairdos

My IQ
Used to You
*Not a Pretty Girl*:
Tiptoe
Cradle and All
Shy
Not a Pretty
Girl
This Bouqet
*Dilate*:
Untouchable Face
Outta Me, Onto You
Superhero

Disc
Two:

*Dilate*:
Joyful Girl
*Living in Clip Disc One*:
Gravel
32 Flavors
/>*Living in Clip Disc Two*:
Fire Door
Both Hands
Not So Soft
Out of Habit
Letter to a
John
*To the Teeth*:
Providence
*Revelling*:
OK
Garden of Simple
Heartbreak Even

*Reckoning*:
So What
*Stray Cats*:
Swandive
Napoleon
*Girl's Singing Night*:
/>Gratitude
You Had Time

So, there's nothing from the latest album "evolve", and past Dilate, they
get kind of skimpy per album. Firstly, most of the stuff past Dilate is live, and also, I've spent the most time
connecting with the early music. Also, I ended up 40 minutes over the cd length when I was making the 2nd cd and cuts
had to happen somewhere.
